Report of military activities in Flood Emergency Relief.

Report from Maj. Gen. E.C. Shannon to the governor of Pennsylvania documenting the flood relief activities of the Pennsylvania National Guard from March 15 to April 14, 1936. Report includes statistical information on damages and those assisted for all the affected area in Pennsylvania. Of note is a Flood Emergence Relief Journal documenting all incidents, messages, orders and reports during the 1936 flood. Also of note is a map of detours, construction and bridges destroyed by the flood.

Jonas Heil served as a private in the National Guard of Pennsylvania in Captain John F. Schoener's Company C, 7th Regiment; he enrolled on 13 November 1875, and was discharged on 9 May 1876 at Mahanoy City, Pa., for physical disability.
